Success Stories

Vaughn, a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran, is one of the residents at the Golden Lion, Henning’s low-income housing facility, and he was our first resident to move in! After serving in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, he moved to Alaska in 1969.

After retiring, and despite earning too much to qualify for Medicaid, Vaughn could not afford to live in an assisted living facility. Thankfully, he was able to work with our team and moved into his own apartment when Henning opened the Golden Lion last year.

Having housing that is affordable and accessible is life changing; Vaughn is ecstatic to have his essentials and safely move around. We’re happy to have walked with Vaughn on his journey to housing.
